Empowering Women and Teen Mothers

At Inzira Initiative, we understand that many young women and teen mothers in Rwanda face unique challenges that can limit their opportunities. Some could not continue with their education, while others were forced into early responsibilities that left them feeling excluded and hopeless. Yet, we believe their stories do not end there. With the right support, every young woman can rebuild her future.

That is why we provide technical training programs designed specifically for young women and teen mothers who were unable to complete their studies. These trainings focus on practical skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, digital literacy, and other vocational fields that can help them find jobs or start small businesses. By gaining these skills, they are able to support themselves and their children, restoring confidence and independence.

Beyond technical skills, we focus on livelihood activities that create sustainable income opportunities. We encourage young women to become entrepreneurs, guiding them through small projects that can generate income for their families. This approach does more than fight poverty — it creates dignity, ownership, and long-term stability for women who once felt forgotten.

Equally important, we work to empower girls and women emotionally and socially. Through mentorship, group workshops, and community networks, they find a safe space to share experiences, gain encouragement, and build resilience. They are reminded that their voice matters, their dreams matter, and that motherhood or poverty should not define the rest of their lives.
